*Americans 4 Hindus Gratefully Acknowledges Governor Gavin Newsom’s Veto of SB403*
We, at Americans 4 Hindus (A4H), extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Hon. Governor of California, Mr. Gavin Newsom, for his thoughtful decision to veto SB403.
A4H, as a non-partisan independent Political Action Committee, holds the U.S. Constitution in the highest regard as the supreme law of the land in the United States. Our mission is to ensure that the civil rights and human dignity of all are respected and upheld. In this spirit, we recognize that SB403, while presented as a civil rights advancement, contained deeply critical flaws. Rather than promoting unity and understanding, it infringed upon the Constitutional and civil rights of millions of Americans of the Hindu faith.
The bill was not facially neutral. It relied on misleading narratives, strawman arguments, and a questionable survey that actively encouraged falsification of data.
We deeply appreciate the countless hours policymakers and lawmakers dedicated to understanding our constituents’ principled opposition to this bill.
Guided by the philosophy of “Vasudeiva Kutumbakam” – which translates to “the world is one family” – a foundational tenet of Hinduism that emphasizes unity, cooperation, and mutual respect, A4H remains committed to fostering dialogue and bridging gaps in understanding. We believe in the power of collective well-being and mutual growth.
In light of this, A4H invites all stakeholders, regardless of their stance on SB403, to come together. Let us heal from these divisions and work collaboratively as Americans towards a future that promotes wellness and progress for all.
